Update

16/04/2024

Following our Parent Meetings which took place prior to the end of term, we were keen to seek the opinion of parents whose children will be joining Year 7 in 2024, in relation to the implementation of the move to coeducation, to make the transition into Seniors as smooth as possible.

Alongside the information sessions, parents of pupils joining Year 7 in September 2024 were invited to participate in a survey which sought their preferences as we move to full coeducation from September 2025. The survey achieved a good response rate with 66% of the cohort taking part and, while a clear majority of those parents are in overall favour of coeducation, the preference was unsurprisingly split between basing all pupils in either the Girls’ and Boys’ Schools.

As a result of the strong feeling about where the children should be based, the Governors have taken the decision to retain single-sex provision on the respective sites, in line with the rest of the senior schools for 2024-25; therefore, pupils will proceed to the Girls’ and Boys’ School, as appropriate, in September 2024 before moving to coeducation at the start of Year 8 in September 2025 on the Harrison site.

In line with all other Year Groups, we will hold various transition activities over the course of 2024-2025.
