Estates Plan 2025–2030: Progress Update

As we end the first week in August, significant progress has been made across the Harrison site as part of our ongoing transformation into a unified, coeducational campus.

The following updates reflect the latest developments and improvements aligned with our strategic vision.

Classroom Refurbishment

  • A number of classrooms on the Harrison site have now been fitted with newer furniture, repurposed from the Girls’ School, supporting our commitment to sustainability.
  • A number of classrooms remain in the process of redecoration and furniture installation, with completion expected before the start of term.

Library Enhancements

  • A new, dedicated quiet study area has been created specifically for Sixth Form pupils, enhancing academic support and independent learning.

Dining Room Improvements

  • The dining room is currently undergoing redecoration.
  • New access doors are being installed at the entrance to improve flow and accessibility.

Welfare Facilities

  • Additional girls’ toilets have been completed across the site.
  • New staff and pupil toilets have been installed in newly developed areas, improving overall welfare provision.

Signage and Wayfinding

  • New external signage has been ordered to reflect the updated School identity.
  • With the creation of the new coeducational school, all buildings are being re-named and some departments are moving to new locations.
  • Internal signage, including classroom identifiers, is also being updated to support navigation and departmental clarity.

Staff Facilities

  • A new staff resource room has been created to provide quiet working areas and space for lesson preparation.
  • A dedicated ICT support office has been established, complete with new storage facilities.

Security and Access

  • Several external doors have been replaced to enable improved access control and site security.

PE and Sports Facilities

  • New PE classrooms and offices have been developed in the area previously occupied by Junior Boys’, enhancing sports education provision.

Wellbeing Garden

  • The wellbeing garden is underway and will serve as a quiet, reflective space for pupils and staff.
  • Features include seating, benches, raised flower beds, a paved area, and the planting site for the Mulberry tree, which has already borne fruit this year.

ICT Suites

  • Two new ICT suites are nearing completion:
    • All data cabling and electrical work is finished.
    • Decoration and carpeting are in progress.
    • Ergonomic desks and chairs will be installed shortly.
    • These suites will accommodate 55 computers.

Mulberry House

  • The transformation of Milton House into Mulberry House, our new Wellbeing Centre, is well underway:
    • Electrical work and installation of new internal doors are complete.
    • Decoration is nearly finished, with carpeting scheduled in the coming weeks.
    • The building includes a new staircase, lighting throughout, a kitchen, and staff and pupil toilets.
    • Mulberry House will house the Nurses, Heads and Assistant Heads of Division, SEN teams, and SEN classrooms.

Sustainability Efforts

  • In line with our commitment to environmental responsibility, 10.4 tonnes of metal have been recycled so far this summer.
